Description:Members of the National Farmers Union Leek and Rushton branch picketing at Birkenhead Docks in 1974. Four coachloads of North Staffordshire livestock farmers travelled to Birkenhead to protest against the unloading of live cattle from Ireland. They joined cattle farmers from North Wales, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire and Shropshire at Woodside Dock.
