Description:Ethel Knight of Longton, aged 21. At the time she was working for Charles Allerton Ltd's Park Works pottery on High Street (now Uttoxeter Road), Longton. Ethel married Tom Ibbs on Christmas Day 1940 and they had one daughter, Kathleen.

This portrait was taken by Charles Howell, photographer in Blackpool while she was on holiday or on a day-trip.
