Date:18th of November 1916

Description:This bugle belonged to Joseph Guest. Before the war, Joseph worked at Brymbo Colliery (later known as Holditch Colliery) as an office boy. In late 1914, he joined the North Staffordshire Regiment after seeing a recruitment poster in a shop whilst running some errands. He was sent to France in 1915. Joseph was killed in action on the final day of the Battle of the Somme, 18th November 1916, aged only 23 years old, having not seen his mother since the day he joined up. His bugle was all that was left to identify him by and was sent back to his family.
