Description:A postcard view of St. Michael's Church, Horton, which is largely Perpendicular. The village of Horton lies close to Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The original St. Michael's Church building was a sandstone structure dating from the fifteenth century. Various features were changed between then and 1864 when William Sugden of Leek carried out restoration work and added an east window, the south aisle and a porch. The chancel was restored in 1878, paid for by John Robinson of Westwood Hall, Leek. The churchyard was extended in 1864 and 1898, and in 1902 a lychgate was erected in memory of John Munro of Fairview, who died in 1900.

Published by the Scottish photographer William Sandeman who was based in Rudyard from around 1896 until the 1930s.
