Description:The Rudyard Hotel can be seen in the distance. Originally a Water Bailiff's house known as Reservoir House, it was converted to an inn in 1851. It was enlarged in 1869 and again in about 1906. The pathway led from the reservoir to the house and was retained when the hotel’s grounds were landscaped in the late 19th century.

Published by the Scottish photographer William Sandeman who was based in Rudyard from around 1896 until the 1930s.
