Description:A view of Burnside, Rolleston-on-Dove, an image from the Rolleston Hall Estate Sale Catalogue, October 1919. Sir Oswald Mosley, 5th Baronet (1873-1928) had inherited the estate in 1915 on the death of his father, the 4th Baronet (1848-1915) and took the decision to sell it after the First World War. Much of the estate was sold in 1919 and 1920, but the Hall itself was not sold until 1923-24.

On the left is the Post Office and Stationer's shop run by Miss Annie Simmonds (later Mrs Annie Robinson) between 1900 and 1940. Next door to it can be seen the sign for Frank Topley's Boarding Hotel. In the foreground is the Alder Brook.
