Date:1915 - 1925 (c.)

Description:Prior to 1890, J.C. Staton and Company were mining gypsum at Fauld and making plaster at Shobnall, Burton-upon-Trent. Tutbury Mill was converted from a disused cotton mill to a plaster mill in 1890. This utilised the recently introduced water turbines drawing their power from the River Dove. From this date, Staton's used the mill for crushing and grinding the stone to make plaster. The mill closed in October 1968 and was demolished in 1972. The mine is still worked and is owned by British Gypsum.

This unused R.A. Series postcard was published by Radermacher, Aldous & Co. and printed in England.
