Description:An interior view of Tutbury Castle. On the left is the King's Lodging, dating to 1631-35 on the site of the former great hall. The small wooden building to the right stands over the well. Further to the right are swing-boats, part of the entertainments for visitors to the castle. Passengers propelled the boat by pulling on a rope at each swing to get the boat to swing higher.

The Keep, also known as Julius's Tower or the Round Tower is a folly built in 1780, the original keep having been demolished during the Civil War. It stands on the Norman motte.

The postcard was published by Siddals of Newhall, Burton-upon-Trent in their 'Dorette Series'.
