Description:Looking north along Plantation Lane, Hopwas (the B5404) with Bodnets Farm on the right. The nearest house and the outbuilding by the road have since been demolished, but the red brick house still stands. An empty cart is parked outside the farm and another is being driven further down the road.

This postcard was posted from Tamworth to Mrs and Miss Chavasse at Walsall in August 1909. Fanny Chavasse was a widow aged about 70 and her unmarried daughter was 32 and a shorthand typist at a harness and fancy leather business. The writer describes taking a drive, possibly from Walsall through Shenstone and stopping at Hopwas for tea. He planned to return via the Barracks, probably meaning Whittington Barracks. He hoped that Mrs and Miss Chevasse were enjoying Sutton Park.
