Description:A golfer drives off from the 1st tee at Rudyard Lake Golf Course with his car and driver alongside. Rudyard Lake Golf Club was formed in 1906 and was the first of its kind in north Staffordshire. The North Staffordshire Railway had acquired the Cliffe Park Estate in 1903. The initial 8 hole course was laid out in 1905 and increased to 18 holes in 1908. The club closed in 1926.

This is one of a series of colour-tinted postcards published by the North Staffordshire Railway and printed by Wildt and Kray, London. It was posted from Stoke-on-Trent in 1909.
