Description:Christ Church, Hilderstone and the graveyard viewed from the south-east, with the Vicarage to the right. The latter is now a private residence named The Old Vicarage. Christ Church was built in 1827-9 to designs by Thomas Trubshaw of Little Haywood.

The postcard was published by T.G. Adie & Co. (Stone Series) and posted in August 1907 from Stone by Elsie Meigh who was staying at Hiderstone for a week with Gladys. It is addressed to Miss Elsa Amar at a boarding House in St Hellier, Jersey. Elsie and Gladys Leigh would have been about 15 and 12 respectively in 1907. In 1911 they lived in Hanley and their father was a commercial traveller. There is an 18 year old named Elsie Amor listed in the 1911 census living in Blythe Bridge assisting in the family drapery business.
