Description:This postcard view looks north-east along the Sandon Road in Hilderstone. On the left the shop has several product advertisements placed on its walls and front. In the distance the spire of Christ Church can be seen. Most of the buildings in this scene remain (October 2023), although over the years several of the cottages have had some alterations.
The postcard was probably posted in an envelope because on the reverse there is only a brief message written all the way across the back: “Hilderstone 12th July, Dear Sister Pattie, We all wish you many happy returns of your Birthday. Best love from your affectionate Sister H. P. Bowers.”
