Date:1910 - 1925 (c.)

Description:Situated at the end of Church Lane, St. John’s church was built between 1873-1883 to the design of London architects Newman and Billing replacing a mediaeval predecessor. This view was taken from the junction with Hall Lane. In the road is a man resting on his wooden barrow and beyond is a man with a bicycle.

The postcard was published by Mr Axten Post Office, Hammerwich. Frank Axten ran the shop and Post Office in Hall Lane by 1913 and at least until 1916 (- but not in 1904 and not by 1928).
