Description:A postcard view of the High Street in Tutbury with the Farrier's Arms public house on the left selling Worthington's Ales. It closed in 1918 after its licence wasn't renewed, seemingly because its public rooms were too small.

The next shop sells Wheeler & Wilson sewing machines. This American company was acquired by the Singer Corporation in 1905 who continued to promote the brand for a few years, certainly until 1913. This shop and the one opposite seem to have black plumes over the shop front which might be to mark the funeral of King Edward VII in May 1910.

This postcard was posted in Barnes, London to a Hertfordshire address in 1953, long after the photograph was taken.
