Description:Gentleshaw Vicarage was situated on Chapel Lane opposite the Church. It is now a private house known as The Old Vicarage.

This postcard was posted in Walsall in 1905 to a Sheffield address. This is an early postcard where the message had to be written on the same side as the picture and only the address was allowed to be written on the reverse. Pictures by private publishers were allowed from 1894 and the message and address on the same side from 1902, but old stock would have no doubt been used until it was exhausted. The phrase 'Ent. at Stationers Hall' at the top right implies that the photograph had been registered there to protect its copyright and allow legal action to be taken if infringed. This was superseded by the Copyright Act of 1911. 'Beaudesert Pictorial' is named after the nearby seat of the Marquess of Anglesey.
