Description:A powerful thunderstorm crossed Shropshire and south-west Staffordshire on Wednesday 16 May 1906. A lightning strike from the storm destroyed this huge oak tree near Aqualate Mere. This group of men visited the tree a day or two afterwards to inspect the damage.
