Description:The village war memorial sits in the apex of the triangular green in the centre of Abbots Bromley, not far from the historic Buttercross (visible in the background of this view). The memorial takes the form of a tall, gothic cross mounted on a pedestal which bears inscriptions on all four sides.

The memorial was made by Rober Bridgeman and Sons of Lichfield to a design by local artist Frederick Mercer. On 5 June 1920 the congregation of the Catholic Church, led by Father Craig, held a service at the newly erected memorial.
It was formally dedicated by the Bishop of Lichfield on 20 June 1920.
