Description:This postcard view was taken looking west along Back Lane from near the junction with the A518 Newport Road, Gnosall Heath.

The cottage on the extreme left was the home of John Malpass whose family were wheelwrights, joiners and undertakers, later known as Malpass & Walker, building contractors, wheelwrights, joiners and undertakers. This cottage and the one behind the woman standing by a gate remain (August 2023); the cottage on the right has since been demolished.
