Description:A postcard photograph taken at Gnosall Wakes in 1909. Sports and entertainments took place on the Moors, a field by Gnosall railway station; the embankment can be seen in the background. Here, eighteen poor widows and parishoners are lined up behind trestle tables before roast meat from a sheep given by Mr D. Hall of London was distributed.
