Description:A general view of Stonefield Park viewed from Field Terrace with the tennis courts in the foreground. The houses to the left are on Albert Street, those to the right are on Old Road.

Stonefield Park was developed on part of Wakes Field, originally owned by Joule's Brewery. The land was bought in 1923 by Stone Urban District Council for £1000. The park was opened by Sir Ernest Johnson on 24 March 1928, and contained flower beds, a bandstand, two grass tennis courts and a bowling green.
