Description:Oulton’s parish war memorial stands in the churchyard of the church of St. John the Evangelist and was unveiled by Col. Sir Smith Child, Bart., D.S.O. on 12 December 1920. The memorial was carved with the names of 17 soldiers who fell during the First World War. In November 1947 a plaque with the names of seven men who fell during the Second World War was added.
