Description:Officials, guests and staff at the opening of the new Isolation Hospital on Rakeway Road, Cheadle, close to the junction with Moss Lane. the opening ceremony was performed by Mr C.J. Blagg, Chairman of the District Council. It was built by William Alcock, builder at a cost of around £2,400 and consisted of an administration block, containing kitchen, scullery, nurses' dining room, sitting room, bedrooms and servants' rooms, and other blocks containing four wards for two beds and six beds each, a laundry, ambulance house, disinfecting chamber, and mortuary.

The Isolation Hospital became Cheadle Hospital Annexe in 1954, caring for elderly patients, and since 1972 has been Beech Lodge Nursing Home.

This postcard was sent to an address in Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire and postmaked Cheadle, 18 May 1904.
