Description:Occupying the highest point on Cannock Chase at 795 ft (242 metres), this scheduled ancient monument, believed to date from the Iron Age, which covers the period from around 500 BCE to the arrival of the Romans in 43 AD. Evidence of a medieval hunting lodge can be faintly discerned inside the inner enclosure.

Photographed by J.K. Wadsworth, Lichfield Afternoon W.I. and published as a postcard by Staffordshire Federation of Women's Institutes. It was printed by Judges of Hastings. It has a hand-written date of February 1996 on the reverse.
