Description:Cheadle Secondary Modern School opened on The Avenue, Cheadle in 1948, and was later named after Dr Ernest MacKenzie (1863-1939). Dr. MacKenzie had a surgery on the High Street and was an Alderman of Staffordshire County Council, a Justice of the Peace, and was President of the town's Bowls and Cricket Clubs. Since 1975 the buildings have been occupied by Cheadle Primary School.
