Description:This postcard view shows an area known as Islington on the Forton Road looking north from Newport, Shropshire, towards Forton in Staffordshire.

Over the years several changes have been made along this road, however, the houses remain (May 2023); although on the extreme left of the first house there is now the entrance to Newport (Salop) Rugby Union Football Club.

This postcard was published by Bennion, Horne, Smallman and Co., Market Drayton. It was printed in Treves, Germany.
