Description:Henry Courtney Brocklehurst (1888-1942) of Swythamley Hall seated on the Queen's Chair on the Roaches.

The Queen's Chair is on the main ridge of the Roaches and is a fine view point. An inscribed stone by the rock-cut chair reads “visited by the Prince and Princess of Teck, on August 23rd 1872." The Prince and Princess were visiting Phillip Brocklehurst of Swythamley Hall and visited nearby Rock House during their stay. The Princess of Teck was the mother of the future Queen Mary, wife of King George V.
