Description:A shooting party from Swythamley Hall pictured at Shaw House at the back of the Roaches. Sir Philip Brocklehurst is sitting on the wall, wearing shorts. His wife Gwladys is standing far left and his sister Mabel is fourth from left. Shaw House has also been known as Shaw Cottage Farm and Smallshaw Farm. The Brocklehursts regularly used it as a base when shooting game around the Roaches.
