Description:A postcard view of Field Head in Gallowstree Lane, Upper Mayfield.

This late Victorian house dates from around 1898 and was built by George Simpson for his 26 year old son George Simpson junior. Around this time brothers Joseph and George Simpson leased the nearby cotton mill in Mayfield.
