Description:A postcard view of the Grade II listed War Memorial on Carr Bank, Oakamoor, which commemorates the fallen of the First World War and the Second World War.

The memorial erected around 1919 has inscribed base panels and a tapered shaft topped by a wheel cross. The sword carved on the south side of the shaft is very similar to the bronze cross designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission memorials. Blomfield’s ‘War Cross’, as it was originally called, was to be a permanent element of all the Commission’s cemeteries.
