Description:A postcard view looking south along Swinscoe Hill towards Mayfield. On the left there is a glimpse of Tollgate Cottage, a Grade II listed building, which stands on the corner of Birdsgrove Lane and the A52 on Swinscoe Hill.

The postcard was published by F. W. Scarratt & Co., 114 Abbey Street, Derby. Francis William Scarratt was born at Hadley End near Yoxall but his parents moved to Derby when he was young. He was a wallpaper designer before becoming the proprietor of a stationery business. This postcard was franked on 11 December 1913 in Tooting, south west London. It was sent to an address in New Kent Road, south east London.
