Description:Located on Cheadle's High Street (A521) at its junction with Watt Place, near the Church of St Giles the Abbot, this Grade II listed water fountain was posthumously gifted by Sarah and John Colclough Bourne in 1879. John had been a local doctor and surgeon with his home and practice at Daisy Bank House. He died in 1861 and his sister, Sarah, died in 1877 leaving a large amount of money to the town in order to provide medical assistance for the poor, named The Bourne Foundation.

This postcard was published by William Shaw of Burslem. Franked in 1910 at Tean, it was written by Eliza at Coplow Cottages, Tean and addressed to Mrs Downwood of 95, Slater Street, Burslem.
