Description:A postcard view of Madeley village taken looking north on Bar Hill towards Poolside, close to the junction with The Holborn. The man on the left is sitting on the parapet of the bridge over the River Lea. The white painted house is Yew Tree House which had earlier been the home of the Crewe Estate manager. Although it is mostly hidden by the trees, the second building from the right with the very large chimney is the Old Hall which was built around 1530 and currently (2022) it is known as the Old Hall Country House.
