Description:A postcard view of demolished industrial buildings in the hamlet of Leycett, near Madeley. The village of Leycett was built in 1869 to house local miners. After the colliery in the area had closed and the branch railway was dismantled, in around 1964, there was no commercial point to the community and the village gradually became deserted. The majority of the village was demolished by the Coal Board in 1968-9.

This postcard was sent to an address in Burton-upon-Trent and postmarked at Newcastle-under-Lyme on 13 June 1914.
