Description:The Stafford Cricket Club 2nd XI team pictured at The Hough before their match against Milford Hall 2nd XI. Stafford (70 for 4) beat Milford Hall (69) by 6 wickets. Back row (left to right): J. Kay (umpire), N. Williams, C. Middleton, D. Humphries, D. Slee, B. Matthews, R. Bimson. Front row: P. Smith, K. Sproston, M. Bulpitt (captain), K. Elsley, R. Ingram. Stafford Cricket Club was formed in 1864, but a club representing the town had been in existence at least by 1847. The Club first played at the Lammascotes but moved to a new ground at the Hough in 1890. This remained the Club's home until industrial development of the surrounding English Electric factory led to a move to a new ground at Riverway in 1984.
