Description:Behind the trees can be seen the embankment of Hednesford Hills ‘Scout House’ Reservoir which received water from the nearby Morse Gorse and Huntington pumping stations which were built simultaneously with it. At the time of the posting of this postcard in 1940, the 1878 reservoir was obsolete having being empty since 1916. It was frequently affected by mining subsidence. The interior of the open reservoir would be converted in to a stock-car race track in 1954 and remains a raceway today. The view is from the Littleworth side of the hills and looks the present-day raceway entrance . The sloping sand cliff on the right leads down to near the Trafalgar Inn.
