Description:On the reverse of this postcard the creature is labelled as a Phororachos, since named Phorusrhacos. It was part of a group of extinct flightless birds, and one of several replica prehistoric creatures in the former ‘Lost World’ at Drayton Manor Park and Zoo. Around 2010 ‘Lost World’ was reinvented and became known as ‘Dino Trail’ which is a walk through area of dinosaurs, including this creature currently (2022) labelled as a Titanis.

Also on the reverse a young unknown visitor has written a brief message in green ink as follows: Age 12, Date 13 July, Year 1984.

In later years the site became known as Drayton Manor Resort, one of the largest amusement parks in the UK with over 100 rides, a 15 acre zoo and accommodation. It is situated in the grounds of the former Drayton Manor, near Tamworth.

This postcard was printed by E.T.W. Dennis and Sons Ltd., Scarborough.
