Description:Bowler-hatted Albert Stanley, Member of Parliament for North West Staffordshire 1907-1915, sits in the front passenger seat of the car outside his home, Woodseaves, at 53, Green Heath Road (known locally as West Hill), Hednesford. It is possible that his daughter Ethel and her brother Albert are seated in the back. Ethel married Samuel Kendrick in 1909. Albert died in 1915 and is buried at St Peter's Churchyard, Church Hill, Hednesford. The car is thought to be a Humber dating from around 1908.

Albert was a boy preacher in the Primitive Methodist Church. From 1884 until his election to parliament he was Secretary of the Midland Counties Miners' Federation. He was elected to Staffordshire County Council at its inception in 1889 and sat until his death. A blue plaque commemorating Albert's life and times was placed on the house by Hednesford Town Council in 2019.

The postcard has had its stamp and franking removed but the writer says he went to Rugeley the previous week to see the King.
