Description:Looking towards Hednesford's main shopping street. On the left is the passenger entrance of the Railway Station which was built on the side of the 1875 road bridge over the railway lines. The previous wooden station was at line level and was lost in a fire in 1876. Walking in through the entrance, a central ticket office was situated centrally at the back. Either side of this two stairways descended to the platforms.
A railway employee, a boy selling newspapers, and children with their doll's prams are standing outside. The narrowness of the pavements was to be an increasing problem for pedestrians in the years to come as road traffic increased. A large gas lamp is attached to the front exterior of the Booking Office.
The postcard was franked in Stafford on 10 April 1906
