Description:The ruins of the fifteenth century Manor House were demolished in 1963 to make way for a housing estate. Panelling from the interior of the house can be seen inside the chancel of the church. The stone wall on the west side of the church was built in 1964 with stone from the ruins.

In the background is St. Luke's Church. The church was designed by the Duke of Sutherland’s architect and surveyor at Trentham, Thomas Roberts. The foundation stone was laid on 18 June 1880 by Millicent, Duchess of Sutherland in the presence of the Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII. St. Luke’s church was consecrated by the Bishop of Lichfield in the presence of the Prince of Wales on 27 December 1881.
