Description:This is thought to be a rare view of the interior of Hednesford's Roller Skating Rink. It later became the Picture Palace and finally the Tivoli Cinema. It was located in Anglesey Street near the current (2022) Hedgeford Lodge Wetherspoon’s public house.

The rink was opened in January 1910 by the Marquis of Anglesey. The building was 100 feet by 50 feet (30.5m by15.25m) and had a separate viewing area for non-skaters. Its maple floor was claimed to be ‘the best in the Midlands'.

In this view a couple of skaters are practising. The room is bedecked with bunting and international flags for a special event. The national flags seem to be those of World War 1 allies and include military versions.
