Description:This Gloster Javelin FAW 8, pictured at RAF Stafford, had previously served with RAF No 41 Squadron, based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. A different Gloster Javelin was positioned at the camp main entrance for many years.

The Gloster Javelin is a twin-engined delta-wing subsonic night and all-weather interceptor aircraft that served with Britain's Royal Air Force between 1956 and 1968.
