Description:This highly ornate marble memorial, located on the south side of St Mary's, Stafford, commemorates Humphrey Hodgetts of Stafford.

The Latin inscription reads:
‘Memoriae Humphredi Hodgetts de Staffordia Armigeri, Johanni Wilson Armigero Nepolis Qui paterno amore Illum Tetramento Heredem resiquit Uxorem duxit Elizabetham, Eduardi Littleton de Pileton in Com: Staff: Equites Sororem. Sine Prole obit 17o Ian. Anno domini 1734 o Aetatis 73 o.
Opes quas an Avancolo acceperat, accumulates transmisit Johanni Hodgetts de Shut-End in Com: Staff: Armigero, Qui Hoc & Mortalitatis & Amoris Monumentum Erexit.’
