Description:This view looks west from Gaolgate Street along the covered row of shops that once formed part of the Sheridan Centre which was developed in the 1970s. In later years it was partly demolished and given a £5 million redevelopment which officially re-opened in 2003 as Gaolgate Place. Among the shops in this picture are: Barratts shoe shop, Oxfam Charity Shop (which in June 2022 remains in the same location), Tandy an electrical shop, Sheridan Fruits, Bright Fashions and Kenwood. This photograph was taken by Stafford photographer Tony Boydon.
