Description:Clough Hall and its grounds were turned into a pleasure park in the 1890s by a firm from Manchester. It became a popular destination for a day out and many carnivals and events were held there.

This photograph is probably from a carnival in aid of Hospital Saturday and shows a float decorated with a scene of domestic bliss. Harriet Barrow is pictured on the left of the cart, with Frank Skellern being in between the cart and horse.
