Description:A scene of two cottages in Hardingswood that gives an idea of the poor conditions some people lived in. Even though these cottages had one and two bedrooms, they would have housed large families. These cottages were owned by a Mr F. Moses who kept the Canal Tavern Public House, the gates of which can just be made out on the right hand side. The residents were moved out in 1949 to better housing and the cottages demolished. The Canal Tavern car park was on this site in 2002.
