Description:Edgar Platt inside his hairdressers shop at 5, Uttoxeter Road (formally High Street), Longton, Stoke on Trent.

In the photograph, the shop has been rearranged for use at family party. Note the cast iron fire grate and above it a very large mirror. On the mantlepiece are men’s toiletry items including Brylcream, shaving soap and hair gel. Behind the party card table are the two original wooden old styled wooden barber's chairs with limited padding.
