Description:Stafford Arts Council was formed in 1947 to promote drama, music and fine arts in the Stafford district. Here, Mr. A. E. Harrison (Chairman of Stafford and District Arts' Council) welcomes Dr. Percy Young (centre), speaker at the first meeting of associate members of the Arts' Council, held at the Swan Hotel. Others in the group are (left to right) Mr. John Perry, Mr. L. J. Harrison (Secretary), Mr. D. B. Peace, Mr. Clive Wilson (Vice-President ) and Dr. G. Ramage (Chairman of the Programmes' Committee). Percy Young was head of the music department of Wolverhampton and Staffordshire Technical College
