Description:This picture appeared in the Staffordshire Newsletter as part of ‘National Foot Health Week’ which was during 16 to 21 June 1952. Please contact us if you recognise anyone in the photograph.

The feature suggested that customers should follow the example of the young lady in the picture (in a local salon) and buy the best shoes you can afford and see that they are ‘fitted’ and not merely sold like groceries.

National Foot Health Week in Stafford took place at the Lotus shoe shop which was at 23 Greengate Street and advertised as: “Footwear for all the family correctly fitted by experts at the most Beautiful Shoe Shop in the Midlands, where the Lotus fitting consultant was in attendance during the week to give help and advice on foot health problems”.
