Description:Dachshund ‘Turishill Monarch’, judged best dog in the Stafford and District Canine Society’s show, takes a personal interest in its owner, Mr R W B Pinches, of Coseley, who receives the President’s Cup at the hands of Mrs C D Lingwood. On the left is Miss M Bryan of Hednesford with Cannockian Suzanne, a West Highland White, winner of the Members Cup and the Upmeads Cup. Also in the group (left to right) are: Mr C D Lingwood, Mr C J Elton and Mr A Murray (Judge). There was a good entry and a high standard for the second show of the season which was held in the St. John’s Market Hall, Stafford.

In the background there is a large sign advertising Jenkinson’s Cafe on Greengate Street. In the centre there is a part view of a sign for a music stall and on the right a sign for Gerry Billington’s fruit stall. St. John's Market buildings were demolished in the early 1990s to make way for the construction of the Guildhall Shopping Centre.
