Description:A new £30,000 three-storey block of shops and offices under construction on the corner of Stafford Street and Chapel Street, Stafford. It was built by F. Espley & Sons Ltd. and was completed in spring 1956. It was the first shop premises built in central Stafford after World War Two. The building occupied the site of the old Police Club. The van in front of the building belonged to grocer H.S. Oxley who occupied one of the new shop units when it opened. The building is now (October 2023) named the Whitehouse and is occupied by Bear Hut Brownies and Theo’s Café.
